Feed the Soul, Nourish the Body a spiritual and scientific approach to weight loss
This new class will be offered for the first time beginning January 17, 2007. Check the calendar and Sunday bulletin for upcoming class sessions.
How many of us resolve each year to lose weight? Perhaps we have tried so often without success, we stopped making that resolution! Have you tried
many diets and nothing seems to keep the weight off? Want to try something new?
It's easy to get swept away at parties and meals with friends, and want to eat everything in sight -- even if we are full and not even hungry! And
then comes regret, as we think to ourselves, "there's got to be a better way!" What would happen if we invited God into every meal because we love God and are thankful for God's good gift of food?
For the first time, our Discipleship program is offering a course for those who would like to lead healthier lives. There are no prerequisites to this course; it is open to all.
Some key concepts covered include
- focusing on God instead of food,
- focus on eating what you like—not restricting what you eat,
- learning to make better food choices, and
- listening to your stomach hunger instead of your head.
This class will be led by Angie Thurnall, who is also participating in the program. She has been energized by other
faith based programs and would like to see us actively support one another to have healthier spiritual and physical lives.
