Rev. Delores P. Berry, "an out of the closet Christian Evangelist who Preaches, Prays, and Sings."

Black Pride Celebration & Community Worship Service
from the Weekly News, August 6, 2006

Indiana Black Pride is coming up August 10-13, and Jesus MCC will be part of it! We'll have a booth at the Celebration at Watkins Park on August 12 from noon to 7:00 pm. Watkins Park is at 2360 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. St.

Community Worship Service
The culminating event of Black Pride will be a Community Worship Service, here at Jesus MCC on August 13 at 10:45 am.  Our special guest speaker for that day will be Rev. Delores P. Berry.

Rev. Berry is an Evangelist and vocalist in the Metropolitan Community Churches.  A former Christian Methodist Episcopal minister, she was ordained by the MCC in 1983. If you haven't heard her preach before, you're in for a treat.  To say that she's dynamic is an understatement!

Along with our special guest and special music, we'll have a soul food fellowship immediately following the service. The main dish and soft drinks will be provided, and the entire congregation is encouraged to bring a favorite side dish or a dessert as we welcome Indiana Black Pride to Jesus MCC.  If you're not a "regular" at Jesus MCC, do not bring anything -- please be our guest!

Note that Rev. Berry will be preaching at all services on August 13, so you can hear her message no matter which service you attend.
