Divine Chaos

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

This sermon begins a new series on the names of God that are found in scripture. Each name is uniquely descriptive, and can give us precious insight into the character and nature of God.

This week, we look at “I AM”, the name God used when encountering Moses at the burning bush. “I AM” is also the root behind the Hebrew name YAHWEH. As we see in this sermon, God is letting us know that God will not be controlled by us — an insight that has profound meaning for how I relate to God, and how I live.

An Unlikely Candidate

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

Do you think of yourself as the last person God might choose to do something important or worthwhile in this world?

Well, then, congratulations! As we see from our examples in scripture, that’s exactly the sort of person God chooses.  Strange, huh?

Listen or watch as we examine this counter-intuitive way that God works, and look at ways we can lay aside our doubt and have confidence that God can and will use us.
