New Navajo Nation Ministry Team

January 18th, 2008 • Category: Helping Those in Need

Do you like working with people from different cultures? Are you fulfilled when you can help others to help themselves? Do you realize how blessed we are, and would you like to share those blessings with others? If so, you may be interested in a new Ministry Team that is being formed — The Navajo Nation Ministry Team.

During our 2007 Mission Service Trip to the Navajo Nation, we learned about the poverty, unemployment, addiction, domestic violence, and elevated school dropout rate that plague the Navajo Nation. We laid the foundation on which to build an ongoing relationship with the Southwest Indian Foundation (SWIF).

The Navajo Nation Ministry Team will provide an avenue for members of Jesus MCC to demonstrate “lifestyle evangelism” through uplifting cross-cultural outreach programs with the Navajo people. This Team will be committed to strengthening relationships with the SWIF and other organizations to provide desperately needed assistance. The Navajo Nation Ministry Team will support programs that provide immediate assistance as well as programs that promote self-sufficiency of the Navajo people.

For more information or to express interest in being part of this new endeavor, please email the church.
