Hitch Your Wagon to a Star Rev. Jeff Miner, December 26, 2004.
What problem or situation in your life seems to be too big to tackle?  What if -- in this new year -- you summoned the courage to do something really daring, instead of playing it safe?

In this sermon, we take a cue from the Magi to set aside the piddly little resolutions, and grab hold of a big, audacious idea. Listen for encouragement and a call to action.

Are We There Yet? Rev. Jeff Miner, December 19, 2004.
Did you have Christmases as a child when you thought there was no way you could wait?  Waiting for Christmas Day, waiting for Santa, waiting to open gifts -- we could hardly stand it!

While the childhood waiting was exciting -- almost fun -- the waiting we do as grown-ups can make us doubtful and fearful. Waiting and praying for a loved one to be restored to health, waiting and hoping for a relationship to improve, waiting for a break in our financial situation.  We want God to respond, NOW!  Yet often God's answer seems to be, "Wait, my child." What's the point?  Does waiting serve any useful purpose?

Crazy Without You Rev. Jeff Miner, December 12, 2004. Part 2 of a 2 part series.
Have you ever thought: Church would be great, if it weren't for the people? So with all the hassles that come with being part of community, why did Jesus tell us to do it?  Why?

This week, we'll look at "church" from a fresh perspective.

Home Alone Rev. Jeff Miner, December 5, 2004.  Part 1 of a 2 part series.
What's the point of being part of a church?

We tend to be loners.  We've learned the hard way that belonging isn't easy. And some of us have been so turned off by church that we want nothing to do with it -- our spirituality is a do-it-yourself project. But are we missing out on anything important by doing it this way?

This sermon looks at "church" from a fresh perspective.

Constant Craving Rev. Jeff Miner, November 28, 2004
'Tis the season to give thanks!  And over the last few days, most of us have dutifully done so.  After all, it's the polite thing to do.  "Thanks for Aunt Annie, thanks for my pet turtle, thanks for reruns of 'The Nanny,' etc., etc."

But if the truth be told, many of us feel more empty than thankful, preoccupied with problems, stuck in a place of constant craving.  Would you like to break out of that mold?

Living Outside the Box Rev. Tammy Mills, November 21, 2004
Do you live in a box?

There are lots of boxes that can contain us -- boxes called "doubt", "other's expectations", "orientation", "the past" -- and sometimes they even seem like warm, secure places to hide out, rather than the claustrophobic prisons that they are.

This week we look at ways to break out of our boxes, and live life abundantly.

Kung Fu Fighting! Rev. Jeff Miner, November 14, 2004
Work often tests us to the limits. Difficult people coupled with unfair decisions create enormous stress, and we can feel so trapped and powerless.
This sermon looks at ways to overcome evil with good, to be agents of change in the workplace.

The Sky Is Falling! Rev. Jeff Miner, November 7, 2004
Suffering from election depression? Shell-shocked that 11 out of 11 states adopted anti-gay constitutional amendments? Maybe even kind of afraid?
This sermon looks at how people of faith from the past have responded to political threats. Listen for a message of hope.
